Forefront Staffing (Forefront) has four locations in the Chicago metropolitan area. The company also has 100+ PCs installed between their four branches.

 

Forefront wanted to avoid having to upgrade the PC hardware each time it wanted to deploy new/updated applications. Forefront also wanted a more efficient and effective facility for delivering the new/updated applications -via the internet in a secured manner. This option would allow the organization to achieve their desired goals while minimizing the cost by leveraging the existing networking hardware. The company, however, did not want to spend vast amounts of money re-configuring or upgrading its corporate applications to Web-enable them.

 

Implementing Citrix® XenDesktop® Solutions

Forefront decided to implement an application portal computing solution using Citrix® XenDesktop® server with Microsoft® Windows 2008® Server, Terminal Server Edition software and Citrix Secure Gateway® application portal software. With XenDesktop, Forefront has integrated and published several applications to a secure Web siteLLCluding in-house recruiting management applications.

 

Applications now reside on central XenApps servers, and employees can access them by logging on and connecting to the company’s portal using a standard Web browser. Forefront worked with A&W Consulting, to implement Citrix XenApp Server & Citrix Secure Gatway..
