Network Engineer/LAN Specialist

Developing, implementing, administering and maintaining customers' Intel-based servers, Local Area Networks, Firewall and Remote Access environments. The LAN Specialist collaborates with other Information Technology and user personnel throughout the A&W Consulting client locations. Providing cost efficient, reliable main-stream local area networking solutions that connect PC workstations, promote LAN-to-LAN, and remote connectivity. Also supporting the PCs’ connectivity to other host processors. All activities must result in a high level of user satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

  • Four years of relevant LAN experience
  • Microsoft Server Administration skills are required
  • High degree of customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of diverse Firewall administration preferred
  • Microsoft MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or MCITP (Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional) certification preferred
  • Experience with Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Sever, Windows IIS Server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Advanced networking skills i.e.. Cisco routers, firewalls Ability to write scripts; write & troubleshoot VB
  • Knowledge of ASP, XML programming a big plus
  • Microsoft & Cisco certifications are highly desirable.
  • High school degree with appropriate formal technical training and relevant experience.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
